Friday Favorites June 28th

Happy Friday friends! We have been having an amazing week as we start our college search for Ella. Seeing so many great places! I am happy to be blogging from a beautiful spot and  linking up with Andrea & Erika for a little Friday Favorites. A peek into a few of my favorite things from the week.

See, isn't this a great spot??

one
Well my first favorite of the week has been this fun time with the family. Seeing colleges, new towns and having great food. I'll share more about where we went and what we did in a post soon!

two
We have been able to hit one of our favorite coffee shops not once, but twice!!!!  Friends, if you have not been to Bitty & Beau's coffee shop, you need to visit. You are guaranteed to walk out smiling!

Bitty & Beau's Coffee describes itself as a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop, where people with intellectual & developmental disabilities are valued in the workplace. It's a place where diversity isn't just appreciated, it's celebrated. Bitty & Beau's Coffee proudly employs 400+ individuals with disabilities nationwide.

Each drink comes with a beautiful message written by one of the baristas. This was Ella's message.

We love this place! We have now visited in three different cities!

This was our second stop this trip.

My second message. You just cannot leave the place without a smile on your face!

three
I have shared these before, but these are my two favorite travel bags! I travel fairly often for work and have tried several and these are my favorite. This first one is great for all your toiletries. You can fit full size or travel in here, pending on what your preference is. It folds up compactly and hangs on the bathroom door. The zippered pouches make it easy to access everything.

This makeup bag is the best. It fits a lot, but the best part is how it opens up and stays open, allowing you to easily access everything.

This is the bag closed up. It comes in lots of colors too.

I got this tank and skort before we left and they both were great to walk around in on a really hot day! The tank meets the waistline, so it is not cropped.  The skort looks like a skirt in front and shorts in back. Both come in a ton of color options too!

four
We went to a Summer country concert and that will forever be one of my favorite things. I love live music and love it more in the Summer! I got this dress a while ago, but paired it with a super cute white & turquoise Western inspired belt. If you have a country concert in your future, it's the perfect accessory

We had some great tacos and margs before the concert.

I always say to buy the concert tickets. I have never regretted going to a show!

five
And this girl here is my favorite. She was waiting like this for me when I got home the other morning. She is getting older and much grayer, but she is still full of excitement for us when we walk through the door!

Have a great weekend friends! Enjoy every minute of these last few days of June!

See you on Monday, there is always room for one more at our family table.

What's Up Wednesday June 2024

Hi friends! It's the last Wednesday of the month and I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for a little What's Up Wednesday. I fun post sharing a little food, a little what we're wearing, a little what we're doing, a little what we're watching and a little bit of everything all in one post!
I cannot believe this is already the last week of June..... Summer please slow down!

What We're Eating This Week

I have shared some Summer recipes here over the past few weeks.  This is my go to Summer Marinade. I used it on shrimp and served with pasta, grilled corn and this delicious sauce from Trader Joe's.

I don't know why, but sandwiches just taste better in the Summer! This one had hummus, arugala, chicken, red onion, smoked gouda and spicy pickles,

Monday I shared this Greek Salmon & Orzo Summer Salad. This salad will be in our Summer rotation for sure!

I had a quick work trip to Boston last week and we wen tto dinner at the coolest restaurant that used to be a Speak Easy. This watermelon feta salad was perfect on the 90 degree day!

What I'm Reminiscing About

We have been to a few Summer concerts and already wishing for the next one!!

What I'm Loving

Our weather has been amazing these last couple weeks!! Hot and sunny, which is my favorite because it has us doing some of the things we love.

Luke and his crew have spent a lot of time on the golf course.

We have enjoyed slow weekend mornings on the patio with coffee.

We made a trip to get my favorite ice cream. Bada Bing Bourbon in a waffle cone from Rosie's Handmade ice cream.

We have finally been able to get out on the water!!!

And the kids have spent Summer nights making up games to play in the backyard.

Gosh I love Summer!

What We've Been Up To

We have wrapped up the school and sports things! I officially have a Senior and Sophomore in High School!

Ella started her first job at the cutest little Summer spot.

We stopped by to say hi on her second night. She loves it!

Luke finished his travel volleyball season. It was fun to have all the grandparents there to watch him.

We celebrated Father's Day with some time on the water and then a BBQ with our Dads!

What I'm Dreading

Not a darn thing!! Did I mention I love Summer!

What I'm Excited About

We are on a little family adventure this week and I am so excited for some time with my crew to explore a new to us area!

What I'm Watching/Reading

I just grabbed the latest book from Elin Hildebrand and I cannot wait to dive in! I will be reading it on a beach, which is my favorite place to read her books!

What I'm Listening To

College tours, admissions, athletics, and more.... this is a whole new stage of life. I am listening to all the information I can about how to navigate this and help make the right choice!

What I'm Wearing

A lot of athleisure as I wrapped up my cheering mom status for the sports seasons!  And I have really fallen in love with this tumbler. I didn't think I got the hype, but I really do love it!

These tanks from Target have been a new favorite!

I have been loving the satin skirt trend. This gold one was cute for work and I got a fun hot pink one that I brought on our trip!

I am planning to wear a simple white tank with the pink one, and you can dress it up or down with a simple denim jacket!

Cajun Shrimp is often a go to for me in Summer, but I found this new shade and am loving it! It's an orange-y, coral, red color that is great for fingers or toes in Summer!

I got this denim dress a while ago, but paired it with this white & turquoise belt. It looked so cute for a Summer concert!

What I'm Doing this Weekend

I'll be on the beach......not mad about it!!!

What I'm Looking forward to Next Month

We will be off to Lake George, our absolute favorite place in the world! I cannot wait. It's the most relaxing week spent on the water with my crew!

Have a great Wednesday friends!

See you back here on Friday, there is always room for one more at our family table.

Something New for Your Family Table Greek Salmon with Orzo Summer Salad

Happy Monday friends!! I have had a busy few days, coming off a quick trip to Boston, a really fun Summer concert and we are off for an adventure this week!

I have said this a million times here, but we love salmon. So when I came across this recipe for Greek Salmon with Orzo Summer Salad I knew I needed to try it. It seems a bit complex and daunting when reading it, but I gave it a go and it came together quicker than I thought!

The salmon marinaded for a bit with some balsamic vinegar, shallots, spices and lemons.

Part of the recipe was to grill the lemons, then chop them and add to the feta. I chose to skip all that and I still found the meal to be so full of flavor.

While the salmon was marinating and the orzo was cooking I got everything else chopped up. Chick peas, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, green olives, roasted red peppers- so many great flavors and textures!

I grilled the salmon and took the lemon slices off before I flipped them. While the salmon was cooking, it gave time for the orzo to cool.

Now it was time to mix up everything and a little feta.

We layered the salmon on top of the salad for a great Summer dinner!

If you are not a fan of salmon, the salad would be great with chicken or shrimp. It is also a great stand alone salad to bring to a BBQ this Summer! You can grab the recipe and all the details here

Have a great week friends!

See you back here on Wednesday!

There is always room for one more at our family table.
xoxo
