Super Bowl Snacks.... a little better for you!

It's SuperBowl weekend! And we all know that the best part of the Superbowl is obviously the food.... followed by the commercials....the halftime show... and then the game. I really think they need to move the game to Saturday night or maybe make the day after some sort of holiday. Because let's be honest.. no one is really productive the day after... we are all feeling sluggish... and just talking about our favorite commercials or halftime highlight or the most amazing dip we ate! #youknowitstrue
These ideas I am going to share are a little healthier twist on what you might see.....and I have to apologize because although I have made all these things before I did not take pics! I thought about making them and taking pics this week, but it just didn't happen. But I assure you they are all delish and a little better for you!

Buffalo Veggie Dip
Mix plain Greek Yogurt with a few splashes of Frank's Hot Sauce and season with salt & pepper. As far as how much to put it in, it's up to you as to how spicy you like it. You can also add some shredded cheddar cheese or blue cheese crumbles if you want. I have also added shredded chicken too... also amazing! Serve with some cut up veggies for dipping.
This is the dip and the roasted chick peas

Roasted Chick Peas
Drain, rinse and pat dry two 15oz cans of chick peas. Lay them flat on a baking sheet, drizzle with a little EVOO, sprinkle with salt & pepper and roast at 450 for about 30-40 minutes. These are a delicious snack and you can get creative with the flavor. You can sprinkle any spice or herb on them to change the flavor up!

Mediterranean Dip
This dip is super simple! I threw it together for the first time last summer and it was so good! Make it a few hours before, to let the flavors meld together. Just hold off on adding the feta until you are ready to serve. Chop 1 cup cherry tomatoes, one large seedless cucumber, 1/2 red onion and 1/2 cup kalamata olives into small pieces. add 1/4 cup crumbled Feta cheese and season with salt & pepper. Serve with pita chips.

Nachos
Skip the florescent orange cheese sauce and make your own! Cover a large baking sheet with tortillas and sprinkle with your favorite toppings... cheese, salsa, olives, jalapenos, black beans, cilantro, onions.... whatever you like! Bake at 425 for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Want chicken nachos? Pick up a rotisserie chicken and add some on top!

Strawberry Footballs
Dip strawberries in melted milk chocolate and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Allow the chocolate to harden in the fridge. Melt some white chocolate in a small ziploc bag and snip the end to make a piping bag. Pipe lines across the berries to look like footballs.
This was last years' desserts.
Do  you guys have any must have snacks for the Big Game??  We are wallowing in another missed playoff year for our Bills. #nextyearisouryear #wesaythateveryyear
